Scents come in a variety of potency, and all waxes can accept/contain different fragrance loads. Wicks also play a crucial role in burning properly and emitting a good hot throw (kinda like Goldilocks taste-not too hot, not too cool, but needs to be just right). Even the temperature of a room can be a variant in burning your candle properly. While all of these factors play a role in the hot scent throw, the size of the container and diameter will also play a critical role. A general rule of thumb is that a smaller, one wick candle will cover a smaller space, and a larger diameter, multiple wick candle will cover a larger space.
It’s also important to recognize what you’re purchasing as you browse and compare different candles from different companies. When you buy a jar, it is typically sold as what it can hold when filled to the brim with a liquid--this is NOT the actual weight or size of the candle wax inside. A fill recommendation is usually given by the supplier, and then every label should give you a NET WT. and that should be the weight of the actual wax fill inside the container.
